COMMON GROUND COFFEEHOUSE
Presents Singer-Songwriters IN THE ROUND featuring
Maura Kennedy, Karen Savoca with Pete Geitzman and
Sam McTavey

First Unitarian Society of Westchester
25 Old Jackson Avenue Hastings-on-Hudson NY 10706
Tickets: Adults, $20; Seniors/Youth (12-18), $15; Kids Under 12, free.
Tel: 914-693-1065

"Sam McTavey comes from a long line of gifted singer/songwriters. His family tree (mom Sloan Wainwright, uncle Loudon Wainwright III, and cousins Rufus, Martha and Lucy) reads like a whoÕs who of contemporary popular music. Yes, like each of his musical kin, he offers a stylistic mix that is uniquely his own, in his case, bringing a dark, rich and gravelly approach to his music. If you took Dr. Hook, then threw in a little John Prine, with a splash of Tom Waits and served it in a Wainwright/McTavey glass you would have a taste of what comes out when Sam sings."
